# Where to go around Taiwan during the Spring Vacation?

As the holiday songs fill the city, the joy of Chinese New Year has begun with a 9-day-long spring vacation. Many families and couples are packing their bags to head for their holiday getaway in this beautiful island of Taiwan. There is a tradition called “walk-spring” in Taiwan where people go on vacations to embrace the joy and “invite” luck to their families. As Taiwan is renowned for its breath-taking natural sceneries, there are many places to visit during the spring vacation.

The East Coast is one of the most popular destinations in Taiwan. The county of Yilan, Hualien, and Taitung is packed with everything you need to get your mind off the urban hustle. If you are a big fan of beautiful beaches, head to the coast of Taitung and Hualien. If you have a relaxing afternoon in mind, head toward the soothing hot springs in Yilan and Taitung.

# The best things about Taiwan’s metro systems that pleasantly 'shock' foreigners.

Riding the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is a common daily routine for numerous Taipei citizens who never have a second thought as they hurry from one destination to another. However, according to a world-famous blogger, Darren Hales, Taiwan’s MRT is a wonder in the eyes of a foreigner.

In his blog, Hales states 3 key factors which amazed him as he set foot on Taiwan’s MRT for the very first time. First of all, He stood in awe over the brief intervals between each train, shortening the tedious wait to less than 3 minutes for the next one. Second of all, he marveled at the overall cleanliness of the train compartments and the platform, without one piece of garbage in sight. Third of all, he was surprised by how convenient Taiwan’s MRT is when it comes to its spider web-like underground malls, where you can purchase anything imaginable, from Taiwanese cuisine to video games.
